Jack was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in May. The surgeon at Los Angeles University Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,250, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $7,200 short.
my son has been in and out of Los Angeles University Hospital since May. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jack struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Jack won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
