Ivy was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in June. The surgeon at Saint Catherine Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $11,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $8,800 short.
my mother has been in and out of Saint Catherine Hospital since June. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $11,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ivy struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Ivy won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
