Hiền is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Cầu Giấy Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Hiền can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Hiền has a 3.6 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Hiền would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Hiền isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
