Help Guadalupe patch the roof before the rainy season
Could you spare two Saturdays to help repair a leaking roof in Detroit?
🇺🇸 Detroit, Michigan, United States679 views
I'm a disabled veteran living in Detroit. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the bathroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,850, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Wishing you peace, Guadalupe. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Bakersfield
Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Milan so I could bring a meal. Take care.
Hope things get better soon. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Bang Khen.
Sending good thoughts, Guadalupe. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
