Emiliano was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in January. The oncology team at the Seville Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Emiliano is 52, worked as a shop owner until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Seville Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,800 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,200
• Scans and lab work: $890
• Transport to the Seville Oncology Institute: $590
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,120
