Help Elmarie restart a tailoring shop in Durban after a storm that collapsed the roof
A tailoring shop in Durban needs help replacing three industrial sewing machines after a storm that collapsed the roof.
🇿🇦 South Africa474 views
For nine years I have run a tailoring shop in Durban. In August, a storm that collapsed the roof took three industrial sewing machines. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Monday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $800 goes:
• Working capital for the first month: $60
• Replacing three industrial sewing machines: $630
• Shop repairs and licensing: $110
Thanks for reading all this.

Thinking of you, Elmarie. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Accra
sending strength. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.
Sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Manila.
