Consuelo is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at the Ciudad de México Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $900.
The registrar has said Consuelo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Consuelo has a first-class average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Consuelo would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Consuelo isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Ciudad de México Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
