Help Chioma patch the roof before the monsoon
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Lagos?
🇳🇬 Lagos, Nigeria1,054 views
I'm a widowed grandmother living in Lagos. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $700, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending strength, Chioma. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Lagos

Stay strong. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Spanish Town
Best of luck, Chioma. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings
