Bagus was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May. The oncology team at Medan Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Bagus is 36, worked as a hairdresser until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Medan Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Transport to Medan Regional Medical Center: $65
• Scans and lab work: $270
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $115
