Anele, my wife, passed away on 9 December after a stroke. She was 47 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $850 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 24 December. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Anele to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program. Where the $850 goes: • Transport of the deceased: $85 • Funeral home services and casket: $460 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $305 If you're reading this, thank you. - Anele

Updates from Anele

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 4% funded and I made the first payment toward cemetery plot and burial fees.

  2. 3% there. I made the first payment toward transport of the deceased. Thank you.

Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about transport of the deceased, advice is welcome too. Let me know if you want more detail.

  • Stay strong. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Johannesburg.
