Heatwave in Mangaluru: help the families of Millbrook Lane rebuild
Neighbors in the families of Millbrook Lane are rebuilding after the heatwave; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇮🇳 Mangaluru, Karnataka, India1,220 views
The heatwave hit the families of Millbrook Lane on 2 November. My home was one of 57 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $590
• Tools and labor for repairs: $330
• Clean water and purification supplies: $80
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Purvi.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. roofing sheets and timber comes first ($590) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Mexicali.
Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings.
