Last June I went through a house fire, and I'm now raising two young children on my own. I work as a care worker, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries. I'm retraining as a web developer in the evenings, which will triple my income by September, but I need to bridge the gap until then. Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them. Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward. Money goes toward rent, groceries, after-school care and the cost of my course. I'll give a monthly update with receipts. Where the $650 goes: • Rent top-up: $180 • Childcare and after-school care: $190 • Groceries and school meals: $115 • Course fees and exam costs: $165 Thanks for being kind about this. - Haris

  • You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Los Angeles.

    • hang in there, Haris. Shared this with my family!

      • keep going. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Leeds donated after I showed her your page

        • Sending love, Haris. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.

          • Wishing you the best, Haris. It takes guts to ask. Well done. It's not much but it's yours.
