I'm Trisha, 17, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at an after-school program and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until January. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.

Hang in there, Trisha. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
Hope it all works out, Trisha. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 14 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything!
Take care, Trisha. Hope you get there. Take care.
