Guidance wanted: Skylar's university applications
Skylar will be the first in the family to apply to university and needs someone who knows the process.

I'm Skylar, 19, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study journalism.
I have a distinction average, I volunteer at an after-school program and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Thank you so much.

Keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.
Good luck, Skylar. Hope this works out for you. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.
So sorry you're going through this, Skylar. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Take care.
