Looking for a graduate who can spend an hour a week reviewing Silvia's essays until May.

I'm Silvia, 16, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study economics. I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at my church youth group and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until May. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Glad we found this place.

  • Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Dwarka.

    • Take care, Silvia. Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.

      • Wishing you the best, Silvia. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
