I'm Satomi, 18, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study journalism. I have a distinction average, I volunteer at my church youth group and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • as a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Thinking of Sakai.

    • keep going, Satomi. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My neighbor in Hamburg donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.

      • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Granada.

        • Wishing you the best. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
