I'm Santiago, 17, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study computer science. I have a distinction average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until January. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Glad we found this place.

  • Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.

    • you're not alone, Santiago. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Wish I lived closer to Moscow so I could bring a meal. God bless.

      • Good luck, Santiago. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. All the best.

          • I hope things turn around soon. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings
