I'm Natalia, 16, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering. I have a distinction average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until October. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Muzaffarpur.

    • So sorry you're going through this. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Auckland.

      • Keep going. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Cincinnati

        • Hang in there. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Don't give up. God bless.
