Guidance wanted: Lola's university applications
Lola will be the first in the family to apply to university and needs someone who knows the process.

I'm Lola, 16, in Form 6. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until September. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

So sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends. Sent it to 23 people at work.
Hope things get better soon. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
