Guidance wanted: Khadija's university applications
A mentor for applications, essays and scholarships for a motivated first-generation student.

I'm Khadija, 16, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at my church youth group and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until October. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Praying for you, Khadija. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 11 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Karachi.
Stay strong. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors.
Keep going, Khadija. Study hard! Take care
Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I have a 6 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Sending good thoughts, Khadija. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
