I'm Kajal, 17, in Form 6. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health. I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until January. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending love, Kajal. Hope this works out for you. Put this on a community board in Mecca this morning. All the best.

    • Thinking of you and your family. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Accra.

            • As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Sent it to 25 people at work. Take care.

Wishing you peace. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
