I'm José, 19, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering. I have a distinction average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until August. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Thank you so much.

So sorry you're going through this. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. We're a small family in Epe but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Seville

                      • hang in there. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it!

                        • As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double

                          • Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
