I'm Hélène, 17, in Form 6. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Glad we found this place.

Study hard! My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care
praying for you, Hélène. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Lille.
hang in there, Hélène. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Regensburg so I could bring a meal. God bless!
Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Lille.
sending love. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.
Sending love, Hélène. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings
Take care, Hélène. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Utrecht.
Hope things get better soon, Hélène. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up. Blessings.
Wishing you peace, Hélène. Shared it with a few friends!
