A mentor for applications, essays and scholarships for a motivated first-generation student.

I'm Haile, 16, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study psychology.
I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at an after-school program and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until March. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.

Best of luck, Haile. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My husband and I read this together.
Hope you get there. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
Sending love, Haile. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Good luck. Study hard! Blessings.
Best of luck. Study hard! Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Iloilo City.
