I'm Emilia, 19, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering. I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at my church youth group and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. I hope life is good to you.

  • You're not alone, Emilia. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

    • You're not alone, Emilia. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Madina.

Sending good thoughts, Emilia. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Mecca.
