I'm Alejandra, 19, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study economics. I have a 3.9 average, I volunteer at my church youth group and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until April. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Thanks for sharing this, Alejandra. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. After 15 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Alejandra. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless

      • Hang in there, Alejandra. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Blessings.

        • Sending love. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Wish I lived closer to Kathmandu so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Wiesbaden

          • sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend

            • take care, Alejandra. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Surakarta but we're thinking of you.

              • Thinking of you, Alejandra. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from London!
