Gijs's palate reconstruction surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled palate reconstruction surgery in April is out of reach without help covering $3,800 of the cost.

Gijs was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly in February. The surgeon at Saint Elizabeth Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $5,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $3,800 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Elizabeth Hospital since February. The doctors say a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $5,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Gijs struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Gijs won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Gijs
Post-operative medication is $230 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
