I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 3 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,700. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• rear axle replacement (parts): $1,050
• Labor charges: $260
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $300
• Towing and inspection: $90

It's all in the list in the story. rear axle replacement (parts) is the big one at $1,050, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Fair thing to want to know.
