Get Alberto back on the road: my ride-share car repair fund

Without my ride-share car Alberto can't work; a $400 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my ride-share car. 6 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $400. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $400 goes: • rear axle replacement (parts): $230 • Labor charges: $85 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $50 • Towing and inspection: $35 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Alberto

  1. 59% there. I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.

  2. Update from Buenos Aires: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 59% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($230 in total) the plan for labor charges is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • So sorry you're going through this. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.

    • Best of luck, Alberto. I hope things turn around soon
