Funeral costs for Emma's sister, Valérie

Valérie, my sister, passed away on 22 September after a long fight with kidney disease. She was 52 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,000 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 5 October.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Valérie to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.

• Funeral home services and casket: $1,550
• Transport of the deceased: $220
• Memorial gathering for the family: $230
