Friendly visitor needed for an 89-year-old neighbor in New York
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that is all Josiah is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Josiah, who's 89. Josiah lives alone in New York, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away.
Josiah loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
