Friendly visitor needed for an 87-year-old neighbor in Thika
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Chebet is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Chebet, who's 87. Chebet lives alone in Thika, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 682 kilometers away.
Chebet loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Rooting for you, Wafula. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too
Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care
Wishing you peace, Wafula. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Thika.
