Friendly visitor needed for an 87-year-old neighbor in San Jose

I'm writing for my neighbor Peyton, who's 87. Peyton lives alone in San Jose, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives 324 kilometers away. Peyton loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
