Friendly visitor needed for an 85-year-old neighbor in San Jose
Graciela lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Graciela, who's 85. Graciela lives alone in San Jose, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 384 kilometers away.
Graciela loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope it all works out. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Keep going, Andrea. It takes guts to ask. Well done. God bless.
Hang in there, Andrea. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

Keep going, Andrea. Wishing Graciela a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of San Jose.
