Friendly visitor needed for a 94-year-old neighbor in Hồ Chí Minh City

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Thiện is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Thiện, who's 94. Thiện lives alone in Hồ Chí Minh City, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives 396 kilometers away. Thiện loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
