Friendly visitor needed for a 93-year-old neighbor in San Jose
Megan lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Megan, who's 93. Megan lives alone in San Jose, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away.
Megan loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Glad we found this place.

Thinking of you and your family, Maria. Looking forward to the next update. Thinking of San Jose.
Praying for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 36 people at work
Gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of San Jose.
Thanks for sharing this. Hope the doctors have good news. We're a small family in Lethbridge but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Hope things get better soon, Maria. This could happen to any of us
Praying for you, Maria. This could happen to any of us. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of San Jose.
hang in there. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Take care
Hang in there, Maria. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.
Hope things get better soon, Maria. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
rooting for you, Maria. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. All the best.
