Friendly visitor needed for a 91-year-old neighbor in Shinjuku
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Sakura is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Sakura, who's 91. Sakura lives alone in Shinjuku, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away.
Sakura loves cricket, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 20 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Shinjuku.
