Friendly visitor needed for a 78-year-old neighbor in Daegu

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Kyung-soo is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Kyung-soo, who's 78. Kyung-soo lives alone in Daegu, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away. Kyung-soo loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Thanks for being kind about this.

Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My neighbor in Cairo donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Daegu.

        • you're not alone, Byung-hun. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours

          • Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best!

            • Thinking of you and your family, Byung-hun. I hope things turn around soon. After 15 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
