Friendly visitor needed for a 75-year-old neighbor in Thessaloniki

I'm writing for my neighbor Pavlos, who's 75. Pavlos lives alone in Thessaloniki, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives several hours away.
Pavlos loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
