I'm writing for my neighbor Georgina, who's 75. Georgina lives alone in Cape Coast, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Georgina loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Helped when no one else could

I was going through a tough time and this person's support was invaluable. They didn't judge, just helped. That kind of genuine compassion is rare these days.

    Outstanding person

I can't speak highly enough about this helper. They were available when I needed them, supportive when I felt lost, and practical in their solutions.

  • Sending good thoughts. Hope the doctors have good news. Greetings from Saskatoon.

    • Praying for you, Henry. Hope the doctors have good news. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.

      • Good luck. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
