Friendly visitor needed for a 74-year-old neighbor in London
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Emery is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Emery, who's 74. Emery lives alone in London, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away.
Emery loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.

So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of London.
