Friendly visitor needed for a 72-year-old neighbor in Yokohama

I'm writing for my neighbor Mariko, who's 72. Mariko lives alone in Yokohama, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives 239 kilometers away.
Mariko loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Monday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
