Friendly visitor needed for a 72-year-old neighbor in San Jose

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Jocelyn is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Jocelyn, who's 72. Jocelyn lives alone in San Jose, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Jocelyn loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
