The flash flood hit the families of Greenfield Lane on 26 August. My home was one of 16 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $7,900 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,700
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,900
• Roofing sheets and timber: $4,300
I hope life is good to you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Peng
Sure. The biggest one is tools and labor for repairs, $1,700. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
Hope things get better soon, Peng. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My neighbor in Tallahassee donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Tallahassee
wishing you the best. More neighborhoods should do this. God bless.
