My nephew, Haris, is 14 and in the final year of school. Haris loves school but English writing has been a struggle since the school was closed during the pandemic. The national exam is in August.
We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend an hour or two a week, in person in Magelang or online, for about twenty weeks.
Haris is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions.
If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in English writing, you could change the course of Haris's year.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thinking of you and your family, Gita. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Love from Derry!
hope things get better soon, Gita. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
Sending love, Gita. I hope things turn around soon. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Hang in there. Hope this works out for you. It's not much but it's yours. Blessings.
