Flood in Prayagraj: help the Hillcrest settlement rebuild
Neighbors in the Hillcrest settlement are rebuilding after the flood; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.
🇮🇳 Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India1,657 views
The flood hit the Hillcrest settlement on 14 January. My home was one of 65 damaged, and 4 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $700 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $135
• Roofing sheets and timber: $380
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $185
Thank you for reading my story.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($98 in total) I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
