Flash flood in San Francisco: help the families of Marketplace Lane rebuild
The flash flood damaged 76 homes in the families of Marketplace Lane. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flash flood hit the families of Marketplace Lane on 17 October. My home was one of 76 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,200
• Clean water and purification supplies: $950
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,300
With deep gratitude,
Julián

Stay strong. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Tamale.
