Fighting thyroid cancer: help Iván afford treatment in Coyoacán
Iván is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Iván was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in March. The oncology team at Coyoacán University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Iván is 32, worked as a nurse until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Coyoacán University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Scans and lab work: $550
• Household costs while unable to work: $440

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. transport to Coyoacán University Hospital comes first ($260) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
