Jimma
Haile was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June. The oncology team at Jimma University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Haile is 38, worked as a construction supervisor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Jimma University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,100 goes: • Transport to Jimma University Hospital: $150 • Household costs while unable to work: $240 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $615 Glad we found this place. - Zewditu

Updates from Zewditu

  2. Update from Jimma: we've started the first stage. We're at 50% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Quick update: $306 raised so far (28%). I made the first payment toward household costs while unable to work. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
