Thành was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at Thủ Đức University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Thành is 57, worked as a bakery worker until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Thủ Đức University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $500 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $55
• Household costs while unable to work: $130
• Transport to Thủ Đức University Hospital: $125
• Scans and lab work: $190
